Herran Henki "The Spirit of the Lord"

Olen kirjoittanut uuden virren. Se on helluntaisävyinen laulu Pyhälle Hengelle. Sävelmä on sama kuin toisessa virressäni: http://petritikka.com/hailosun.htm // I have written a new hymn. It is a song to the Holy Spirit, a hymn of Pentecost. The melody is the same as in another hymn of mine. The Finnish poem is followed by a direct English translation.

Herran Henki, rakkaus,
liekki, lähde, kirkkaus,
tee nyt meidät uudeksi,
anna meille lahjasi.

Poista esteet, tuuleta
riemulla ja innolla,
muuta mieli kylmennyt,
siunaa tulellasi nyt.

Hengen lämmin, kirkas sää
antaa meidän hengähtää.
Kun näin viivyt luonamme,
saamme levon päiviimme.

Armoasi kirkasta,
synti meistä puhdista.
Henki, saavu sieluumme,
täytä valollasi se.

Runsaasti on lahjoja:
rauhaa, voimaa, riemua.
Henki meitä vahvistaa,
taivaan juhlaan valmistaa.

Itse kaiken uudistat,
rakkauden lahjoitat.
Kiitos, Henki, Herramme,
että olet kanssamme!

O Spirit of the Lord, Love, / Flame, Fountain, Splendour, / make us new now, / give us your gifts.
Remove obstacles, stir / with joy and enthusiasm, / change the mind grown cold, / bless with your fire now.
The warm weather of the Spirit / lets us take breath. / When you stay with us like this, / we receive repose on our days.
Illuminate your grace, / clean us from sin. / Spirit, come to our soul, / fill it with your light.
There is an abundance of gifts: / peace, power, joy. / The Spirit is making us strong, / preparing us for the feast of heaven.
You yourself renew all, / you grant us love. / Thank you, Spirit, our Lord, / that you are with us!
